Bundling Up

A little departure in theme for me. I don't draw a lot of anthropomorphized animals. These are supposed to be mice, haha. The little one looks sort of moleish to me. This drawing is done in Painter, using the digital 2B pencil (with brown "lead".) Next week (big deadline this weekend) I'll print it out on watercolor paper and do the main washes in traditional watercolor, then scan it back into the computer and build up details with digital pastel.

Oh Maurie! Thanks for being the first to leave a message on my BLOG! You're a dear!

I keep looking at your sketches and am mesmerized. I think I'll have to get myself a drawing tablet. It just looks like too much fun. Though I am glad to see that you gave the traditional media a try again. Fun, isn't it?

I love your style. I have the opposite problem. My first reaction to illustratin a scene is to use an anthropomorphized animal. I'm currently trying to force myself to draw more humans!

Thank you for this blog. I found your link through Donna Doodles and I'm so thankful. I have been struggling with keeping the fluidity of line that I love about my sketches. Once I darken the original sketch to scan it or use the light table to transfer it to watercolor paper I know I've lost the magic I felt at the beginning. So...I went to the wacom site and found a refurbished tablet and got it. Not really an impulse buy as I had been researching the idea. Elizabeth Dulembas postings and your postings definetly helped me make the decision.
